The laws might very between states, but in most states, a new graduate has a moratorium before they take their licensure exam. Under the moratorium, they can work (and get paid) but only with general supervision from a licensed PT. There should be no difference in your salary before and after the permit...however, your employment will be terminated if you fail your boards.
I am very suprised your school did not provide you this information.
I, myself, was employed just before I took my boards...I worked under supervision until I received my results.there was no change in my salary.
