Can you take Ritalin once in a while while on wellbutrin?

Your doctor is concerned because you'd be taking a stimulant on top of an anti-depressant. This can cause a number of problems, some physical (increased body temperature, heart rate), and some mental (hypomania, mania, or even possibly psychosis). But honestly this is no different from drinking too much caffeine, especially if you're only going to be taking one every once in a while.
What you can try doing (only if the Ritalin is NOT controlled release) is take half a pill, see how you react, and then maybe take a full pill next time you think you need it. If you're using wellbutrin to quit smoking you're probably only taking, what, 75 or 100 mg a day? That really is on the low side for Wellbutrin anyways...
Wellbutrin CAN cause seizures in higher doses and when certain other drugs are in the system with it. I'd do a search for "wellbutrin drug compatibility" or "wellbutrin drug interactions" on Google because there are pretty good sites out there that describe almost ALL drgu-to drug relationships and why certain drugs get along in the body and some don't...
Do as your doctor says.
I took welbutrin also and I have not smoked for one year 5 months. I am so happy about this. I hope you achieve all of your goals too.
I wouldn't mix the two meds if the doctor said no, there could be some bad side affects if you do.
If you are SUPPOSE to TAKE RITALIN you DONT JUST TAKE IT EVERY NOW AND THEN. YOURE SUPPOSE TO TAKE IT EVERYDAY. QUIT SELLING THE RITALIN AND TAKE IT LIKE YOURE SUPPOSE TO YOU IDIOT!!
