3 months preg and starting with a cold, should i worry?
Question:
What can I do to get well sooner since I can't take any cold medicine?
Answers:
You're going to be fine.
Because you're pregnant, your body is naturally going to respond with illness-fighting powers. When you're pregnant, your body beefs up on what you need to avoid getting sick and if you do get sick to heal quicker.
Just keep on the water, Tylenol, and remember that if your temp gets over 101 (orally) for more than 2 days, to talk to your doctor.
it might hurt the babyu since his/her immune system sucks go to the doc.
youll be fine, stop worrying so much
This can be a normal symptom of being pregnant. I wouldn't take anything. If you are that bad call you Dr. and ask. They will be able to tell you over the phone without going in.
you'll be just fine just miserable for a few days, sorry :(
Depends. If just a cold, probably not. If is illness, or something worse, should talk to you pre-natal doctor and find out for sure.
Before taking additional vitamins (Vitamin C) or herbals like echinacea on top of your pre-natal vitamins, should talk to Dr Also.
Rest - fluids and take your pre-natal vitamins
juice, chicken noodle soup
and a cold runs its course 7-10 days if you have a fever or get a bad cough call your OB.. you may get ill a few times during the 9 months the baby should be fine -
I had a sinus infection
bladder infection
and the stomach flu all 3 of my kids turned out healthy
take your pretanal vitamins and eat right and drink TONS of water. Your body consentrates on the baby not you when you are pregnant. There are cold medicines that are safe but pregnant or not nothing can make a cold go away..like the saying there is no cure for the common cold. Just dont get so congested that you get broncitis. A decongestant is very helpful and blow your nose often and the water really helps. Feel better and good luck with the new baby.
I got colds/flu in all three of my pregnancies and can tell you for sure -your baby will be just fine :)
Stay away from medicines as much as you can help it though. I recommend the old remedy chicken soup like grandma used to make. If you're having problems breathing sleep with a high pillow; use a Vicks inhaler (mostly safe) for your nose and Chloraseptic (mostly safe) for cough. Ask your doctor if you CAN use them since he/she knows your body health more than anyone. For headache/pain, the only safe thing is Tylenol.
I also heard the Tylenol Flu/Cold med is ok to use... but again, consult your doctor, the ONLY thing that CAN AND WILL hurt your little boo-boo is medicines... no cold, no cough can hurt him/her :)
