Losing more hair than usual is this normal?

Question:
I am 31 and lately it just feels like I am losing more hair than usual. Is this normal and has this happened to anyone ? I usually lose a lot in fall but not in summer. I am not losing chunks but if I pass my hand in my hair I am sure every time to catch around 5. or 6 hairs but often. My hair is long and I am worried that continuing this way I will have hair thinning issues.

Answers:
Have you had your thyroid level checked lately?
Antibiotics could also lead to some light hair loss.
keep in mind that you naturally lose 50 to 100 hairs a day and when your hair is longer it is more noticable than when it is short. most people tend to have more going on with their hair and nails in the summertime. when your body temp is warmer your circulation is better so your hair and nails grow slightly faster in the summer. this may also mean that your hair sheds slightly faster. if you're extremely concerned see your doctor, and maybe take a look at your diet. skin, hair and nails are good detectors for what's being put into your body.
Goldenwings. I have it on good authority that to lose hair from the head in the way that you say is quite quite normal.
Also because your hair is long it seems more.
To lose hair in different seasons is a natural occurrence. Do not worry at all. All normal. Hair naturally thins much later in life. No worries for you at your age.
Have you been under a lot of stress?I've herd that lots of stress can cause your hair to fall out.
Losing up to 100 hairs a day is normal. If you feel like you are losing more than this, I would suggest seeing a doctor and having your thyroid hormone levels checked. Hypothyroidism is very common and often begins to show up in one's 30's. One of the symptoms is hair loss.
