Hormones involved in shock response!!?

Question:
i have unpredictable shock responses, if i get a small cut needing three stitches, i become pale. when i broke my wrist though, i was fine. my friend said there is a hormone involved in this, is it epinephrine/norepinephrine?

Answers:
You are partially correct.
Normally, when we are in a shock due an accident or injury, our body prepares each system of the body to cope up with the increased metabolic need at that time.Hence, it helps us to fight the stress or to escape from the potential injury. We commonly say this, as fight or flight reaction. The hormones like epinephrine and Nor epinephrine are responsible for such action.

There are other group of hormones also responsible during the time of stress, called Steroids. Steroids are naturally occurring hormones that are chiefly secreted by the Adrenal glands.(Epinephrine and Norepinephrin also released from the same gland).Steroids are essential for keeping your body system active
Because of all these reasons ,you get an instant energy to escape from any disastrous condition.
