Mozzie bites in the UK?

Question:
Has anyone been bitten Mosquito's in the UK for the first time this year?
I was bitten half a dozen times the other night.
You can expect to be bitten when you go abroad, but I have never had to close the windows and spray the bedroom with insecticide before going to bed even in the red hot summer of 2003.
How many of you have had the same problem?

Answers:
yes! my bf's covered in bites from the little blighters.. they're definitely mosquitoes as we've been woken by them buzzing around :-( they seem to leave me alone - just one bite - he must be sweeter than me?! BTW we're in Lincoln - where in the UK are you? First time we've been bit in this country.. hope it's not a regular thing...
its cos of all the floods apparently
My mother has the same problem, so she bought this GIANT big zapper. No bites since.
Yep I have, was ironing the other night with the back door open and I felt a stinging pain on my toe. I looked down and there was a mozzie making a meal out of me! My toe was swollen for days....
Yep it is due to the amount of rain we have had - they are prevalent this year - I have been bitten several times - really itchy and annoying...
Mosquitoes (midges) are common enough in the UK especially in warm weather and in wet areas. Don't worry, I never heard anyone suffering any lasting ill effects.

The best natural insect repellent is nim tree oil. Buy some from the Body Shop. Indians swear by it, it works so well.
They say Oliver Cromwell died from malaria.
yes i got bit on my elbow the other night, funny thing id seen what i thought was a mosquito in the bathroom on the wall but left it because i thought they didnt exist over here, then the next day in the local paper it said about a swarm of them that are breeding over here so i was right it must have been a mosquito because it was only after i had seen the one in the bathroom that i discoverd my bite
Yes the little blood suckers are everywhere now days, i got 3 bites last night when i went out for a smoke, guess that should have taught me a lesson but they also come inside. i cant find anything that works well enough to keep them away but i do live by a canal so its a breeding ground.
My daughter went out round town and came back with 3 bites.I have 1 and this time of year ,if you go near water or are out in the garden at night there's a good chance you will get bitten!
