When your foot, leg, arm, etc. "falls asleep" how do you stop the pain or "wake it up"?

I straighten out my arm or leg to get the blood flow going back. I also sometimes just shake whatever is asleep around till the pins and needles tingling stops.
I would massage these areas.
Gently rub the affected area, or walk softly on it, until the blood circulation gets going in it, properly, again.
I would suggest holding your arm straight for the blood flow to get back in.
