Answers:
of course you can die from burning, but only if the fire envelopes your body entirely. so if your worried about matches and lighters don't worry. It's only normal to be scared of fire, but just not to obsess over it.
Well it enflames your whole bodie and your crisp.
try to burn a live fish. you may get the idea. just be careful when handling flame no matter how small. unfortunately most of our clothing are flammable.
When you get burned there is an increased risk of infection as well, so between the two it can be life threatening, depending on the severity.
You should be fearful or respectful of fire, as it can be very damaging. The smoke alone can kill you. Fires can totally engulf a home in a matter of minutes, which is why you should plan an escape route and meeting place outside for everyone in your household. Also, make certain the batteries in your smoke detectors are changed both spring and fall, test them regularly to make certain they are in working order. They can save your life, as well as the others in your family!!
Remember once you are out of a burning building, DON'T go back in, that can be a fatal mistake. Wait for your family members in the "meeting place" that you have selectedin your escape plan. Stay far enough away from the burning structure as well.
Good luck and hopefully you and your family will never need any of this information!! Preparedness is key!!
When you hear a story like that, it is good to be sometimes skeptical...You need all the facts, and remember a lot of stories are passed down and become told as the truth.
first of all, did she die right away? That would mean that she inhaled the flames, and the superheated air instantly destroyed the lungs...Unless she just stood there like a dummy and died of smoke inhalation.
People who are seriously burned would die later from infection, although hospitals are better at that these days...
I wouldn't be concerned... cold clothing will not burst into flames unless the cloth is preheated already to close to the ignition point, or if there is a flammable substance that has got onto your clothing.
So if your dress catches fire, you have the time to pat the fire out, or just "drop to the ground and roll" as the fire dept says...
