Which doctor do i goto to talk about Stress leading to Hairloss? Primary Doctor or Dermatologist?
Question:
Or should i goto my primary care doctor?
Answers:
Well, are you sure it's hair loss due to stress? If you are absolutely positive it's stress, I think you should go to your regular doctor. Although he may tell you some basic knowledge stuff like "get more quality sleep, change your diet, working out is always a good stress reliever", you know, the usual. If he doesn't say anything that you will take heed to, you make want to look into natural remedies or an alternative medicine practitioner. Acupuncture, yoga, and aromatic oil massage haven't been around for thousands of years for nothing. I would also suggest taking time to really identify your stressors. Is it job, living situation, romantic partner or lack there of...what can you do to improve that stressor or the way you deal with it?
I hope you find a healthier way of handeling whatever is bothering you, you don't want to get old before your time.
If you want to go on medications for your stress see your primary.
Go to the derm about you hair loss he'll probably put you on propecia.
However if you dont want to take meds for your stress...you can always go see a therapist.or try acupuncture.
You dont need a psychiatrist to treat your stress unless you think your going schizo....a psychologist should be enough.
I would go to a primary doctor first. There may be an underlying problem. And they have the ability to help you with stress. Then if a dermatologist is suggested you can go from there.
You need to talk to a psychiatrist! If your stress level is so high that your hair is falling out, you first need to get the stress level under control. Then your regular doctor can help you with the hair loss. Ask your doctor to refer you to a psychiatrist if you don't already have one. Stress is one of the leading killers today. Whatever the problem is, don't walk, RUN to your doctor ASAP!
go to your primary doctore and get a refural!
