Leg cramps?

Question:
Every now and then I get cramps in the top of my calf. It hurts like no other so what should I do when I get a cramp and how do I prevent them. I heard that eating a lot of bananas helps. Is that true?

Answers:
the reason behind bannas is b/c they contain lots of potassium...potassium helps with cramping. Your body is most likely low on magnesium potassium and calcuim. Not a big deal though just take some OTC supplements. Drink lots of water too when taking these supplements. When I was pregnant the same thing happened to me. I ended up being extremly low on all the things i named above. So thats it. its a simple fix. you can get the supplements at any drug store. They wont hurt you or anything. they are pretty cheap. around 5 dollars for a bottle. GOOD LUCK
bananas will prb help.however if it seems to be to much a prb ask a doctor could be something else.
Bananas do help and if you are excercising drink a sports drink.
It seems like the other answers believe bananas can help. I didn't know this to be true or not to be true.

But I sometimes get such cramps in the middle of the night and yes - it kills. Typically, I point my toes toward the wall or ceiling while otherwise laying straight. Usually by the time I count to 10 or 20 the cramp has subsided, but of course the after pain is still there.

When I was a teenager they happened more and I heard it was simply a result of growing. As an adult, they usually happen if I have been driving or riding a lot in one day.
