Other non-surgical and non-brace methods to help SCOLIOSIS ?

Question:
I have two 38 degree curves. My doctor wont give me a brace when last time he said he would -.- He said that they arent even sure if it works!

Im probobly going to need surgery :[

Are there any excersizes to help? Pleaseee !

Also, my mom said that only orthopedics help scoliosis. Dont chiropractors do too? Or do they just help on pain? I HAVE NO PAIN BTW.

Answers:
Both my nieces had the surgery for scoliosis. The older one started to curve so badly that her organs were getting squished. The surgery for both of them was tough but within a year, they really had no restrictions on activity. They both are now healthy and can stand up straight like they were meant to. The braces don't seem to help any but the very minimal curves. Exercises can help strengthen and stretch the effected muscles but won't stop the progression. Neither chiropracty nor physical therapy will prevent the progression. Good luck!
NEVER EVER SEE A CHIROPRACTOR FOR SCOLIOSIS!!! Always see a real doctor. If you need surgery then you need surgery. No way around it. I had a fusion at 3 years old.
Hi, well my mom has the same thing only she's 46 now and in very bad pain. My best friend had it. She was given the surgery, all they did was put a rod or pins in her back bone so that it would straighten. It did work. The Brace will work if you catch it early enough, I think. But you really need to get that fixed or it will get worse as you get older. Also take plenty of calcium, people who don't are at risk for Osteoperosis which is a depleation of the bone. My mom has that too.

A chiropractor will bend your bones and crack them. Try to kinda loosen them up. Good luck!
You are a borderline surgical case..as if it progresses more than 45-50 degrees, surgery is recommended...some proactive surgeons may call for it even at your stage...although I think that's premature..

Rigid braces do have pretty bad track records as your doctors suggested. Chiropractic does have pretty good amount of anecdotal evidences but no long term studies..but it does seem to help. In milder degrees, even exercises can help also...but at 38, you are probably pretty rigid..

I'd suggest a soft braces like Spinecor..
