Question:
I just want people to make me feel better. I asked my friends dad last night and he said drug tests cost $500, so my parents wouldnt get me drug tested.
Just please only tell me things that are true, and dont tell me i shouldnt be smoking or what ever because it will just be a waste of your time typing that all out.

Urine is a byproduct of the kidneys and other bodily functions.

They have no reason to give you a drug test on a regular physical.
Drug tests via urine are actually pretty inexpensive and easy to do. If it's for a physical it's definitely possible they'll test you for drugs, although it's not necessarily guaranteed. Urine analysis is usually to test for nutrients, vitamins, etc to see what you are excreting... For sports, they usually drug test, but a standard physical usually does not. Although to get new medication, especially ones that can be re-sold because they're prescription drugs, it's very likely you'll be tested. They won't prescribe it if they think you'll re sell it.
Yes, there is a good chance they will drug test you and no, it does not cost $500, it costs about $20. They may drug test you because the medicine they are prescribing to you may have negative effects if you are taking other drugs.
Some good news: even though the drugs could be detected in both your pee and blood samples, and probably will be, the doctors can not legally tell your mom! There has been this whole nondisclosure and privacy issue things going on for a the past bunch of years. Chances are your mom won't find out, but your doctor will know.

A drug screen has to be specifically ordered to be done. Most of the time when a doctor gets a urine specimen they are just checking routine things like for infection, sugar, protein, so on.
Only you know why you are going to the doctor, and that reason is what determines why the urine specimen is ordered.
drink as much water as you can before the test, if you have time drink a gallon of water within 1 hour -1 hour before the test, i know people who do this to pass parole/probation tests, you sound kinda young so please understand the road your headed down, leave those funny *** painkillers alone there gona lead you to a serious addiction problem, weed is bad enough take it from somebody that knows
You're so honest - I love it. I really don't think they are going to drug test you for this appointment. However if you try out for school sports or get a job your going to run into it.

Chill out. They wont drug test you. Theres such a slim chance. Relax. Drink plently of water to calm you down and all will be well. My mums a doctor so i know all about the doctors and all that. Just chill.
Jobs and schools can do random drug testing. They dont typically use urine anymore, they will use a syliva swab, place on a test strip, and know withing 5 minutes of the use of any drugs. With the exception of those drugs that only show up in spinal fluid, such as"acid". If your under age, your parents are privy to the results. If your being tested by a school, or potential job, they are also privy.
There is no tox screen in a routine physical (annual checkup).
On the other hand, if this is for some specific reason (sports, employment, some complaint of illness), they may look for things in the blood and urine that shouldn't be there.
Why are you all protecting this person. they need HELP and fast. if you are getting anti anxiety meds you have a bigger problem than getting tested for drugs. get help for the anxiety and you wont need the drugs. and no, writing to tell you this is not a waste of my time. it is a plee for you to get better help than an bunch of people telling you its ok to take drugs, legally or not!
Please, Please tell your mom (or other trusting adult, not your friend's) your problems before they get out of hand so she can help you. or at least tell the doctor so he can help you get off all the drugs. better still, get a natropath that will not sell you drugs you probably do not need.
