Questions about depth perception?
Question:
Answers:
Depth perception relates to your ability to perceive how distant one object is relative to another -- in other words, your ability to determine how far away something is. This type of information is particularly important when driving or performing surgery -- things of that nature.
I'm not aware of any alternate tests, but they can be pretty easy to devise right at home.
I just went to the eye doctor today, I have optic neuritis and have lost vision in my left eye. I took the same test today. I could only make out the first set of circles, I couldn't tell with any of the others. When I light a cigarette I notice the gap in depth perception the most, I don't know where to put the lighter, this also happened when I tried to put toothpaste on my toothbrush this morning. It seems to bother me when something is up close, but I don't notice it with things far away. I don't know how you would improve it.
