Does this medication have the same effects?

Question:
Some people say that when drugs for ADD and ADHD are taken by someone who does not have that disorder they can have reverse effects..
I was wondering, if someone who is on an Anti depressant but they are not diagnosed with depression and they are not taking the medicine for that reason could this have the same effect as the other situation (add and adhd drugs)

Answers:
it could. I would just depend on the person and how their body reacts to it. It would most likely make you very sleepy. maybe nauseous.
As far as i know, antidepressants do not work as stimulants, and so they do not have the same effects as the other meds if you are not prescribed them.
Hope this helps
some antidepressants are sometimes used for other things than depression (like helping people sleep, anti-anxiety, etc.)
http://mentalhealth.about.com/cs/psychop... has an interesting article about such. I don't think it would make someone depressed who is not depressed (unlike Ritalyn type drugs that go "backwards" sometimes); probably would still be subject to the other same side effects though.
