Question:
Answers:
Very few prescription meds cause an addition. Prescription medications have played a significant, beneficial role in modern life. The non medical use and abuse of prescriptive medications, however, remains a serious public health concern. When abused, three classes of these medications - opioids, central nervous system (CNS) depressants, and stimulants - can alter the brain's activity and lead to dependence and addiction.
yes the doctor wouldn't perscibe something you can get addicted to. I'm studing to be a doctor so i know alot.
Yes you can take these medicines without getting addicted. Try to take your medicine at the dosage the doctor tells you. If you need to come off of the pills for any reason then consult with a doctor if you need to go off it little by little.
Addiction is a concern with medications, but if you talk to your doctor and let them know they can help monitor you intake and watch for signs. Anything and everything can be addictive, even aspirin or Rolaids. Many people discount mental addiction which can be as difficult to deal with as physical addictions. It shouldn't stop you from taking meds that you need though. Really, just by you being concerned and paying attention you will probably keep yourself out of trouble.
