What is causing my heart to flutter?

Question:
My heart flutters sometimes, like once a week, but recently it's been happening more often like every hour or so five days a week. I'm 7 weeks pregnant so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. The strange thing is this only happens with increased frequency on the job. My job isn't stressful and even if it was, I don't get stressed over a job. In fact, I'm not stressed at all. So it's gotta be something else. I thought it might be something I'm inhaling on the job since it happens a lot when I'm working. Has anyone else ever had this problem? If so, what was the cause and how did you make it go away?

Answers:
I have the exact same thing. I am 18 weeks pregnant and my heart flutters at times (especially at work LOL). Luckily I work at a cardiology office, they gave me an echocardiogram and ekg and everything is fine. With the hormones bouncing around inside of us, it happens. Also, lay off the caffeine, if you haven't already. Mine went down considerably when I dropped my caffeine intake. I think we feel the flutters at work because we are sitting at a desk, quiet and that's when we can sense them more. =)

Hope this helps. CONGRATS on the baby!

PS! If you ever have pain associated I would definitely get it checked. At your next ob appt, just tell the doc that you are experiencing flutters, he might prescribe an echo/ekg for you too. Not much else you can do while pregnant. =)

PPS- here's symptoms of a heart attack, unusual fatigue, shortness of breath, left sided chest pain or pressure, radiation of the pain down the left side/left arm, radiation of pain to the jaw/neck, a feeling that an elephant is on your chest, indigestion feeling may be with or without nausea.
Sometimes if we overdo the caffeine it may cause this. Don't forget that coffee is not the only source of caffeeine - chocolate has alot and some soft drinks like Mountain Dew, too.
Hmmmmm anyone you attracted to at work ? :)
