What can high potassium levels cause?

Question:
I have been taking a drug called Spironolactone for acne, prescribed by my dermatologist.
It can raise your potassium levels, and I am experiencing symptoms of this, such as headache and leg cramping and muscle tightness.

I am actually coming off of the medication, I don't feel it is working at all for my skin, but are my potassium levels going to be ok? Should I be worried about any complications?

This may be a stupid question, but should I avoid bananas when taking a oral medication that effects potassium levels?
