She needs to undergo treatment with Elimite (permethrin cream 5%). Her doctor can phone in a prescription. It's a one-time, 24 hour treatment. Shower first, dry off, apply the cream to entire body especially in skin folds & creases/underarms/groin/under breasts/webbing of fingers & toes, rub in well, wait 24 hours, shower again. She will need to wash all her clothing in the hottest water available and dry on high heat. This all needs to be done before she returns home and both she and everyone in the friend's house need to undergo treatment at the same time. In this way, she won't transmit the mites to you.
If there's any chance that you were exposed, you need to do the same treatment with Elimite.

you should lick the scabs and all of her wounds clean to make sure that you don't get it on you when you touch her. i hope this helps!!
