Ringing ears and tiredness?

Question:
When I'm extremely tired, I find my ears ring, quite loudly. The more tired I am, the louder the ring. Is this normal? I've only noticed it over the last 6 mos.

Answers:
Yes, it is. I had the same when I was working hard and stressed. When I gave up my teaching job, it went.

If you are taking anything containing aspirin or quinine, this can also cause tinnitus, so ask youe GP for a substitute. Good luck
Tinitus - I sympathise - hell
Tinitus?

I would give the doctor A bell if I was you.
go to the doctor about blood pressure.
ringing ears are usually a sign of blood preassure
its sounds like you have been very exhausted over quite a long period. maybe start relaxing alot more and take it easy! for quite a while and it should be okay.
also stay in more quite environments/atmospheres for a while, not loud or busy places like in a club.
It could be tinnitus. I believe this is worse when a person is quiet, as you would be if you're tired. See your GP
are you extemely tired at 3 in the morning after you come out from a club where loud music is playing? if not titinus!
Ive suffered with Tinnitus now for 4years not a pleasant thing to go through. It comes and goes and i do find that when im tired its worse. You get use to the ringing. Consult your GP and he will refer you for hearing tests etc.
Tinatus. you should have a word with your doctor, because of this ringing i now have to wear a hearing aid
I had the SAME THING. Turns out i had very very high blood pressure (210 over 100's). Doc put me on medication and I haven't had it since. You may want to check that out. Good luck ;)
i get a ringing in the ears when i pick up the phone it stops weid or what...
First of all..how is your hearing? I have tinnitus ( ringing in the ears) but because of a slight hearing problem, it does not help.i would go. and see your GP, and get it checked out.I now wear a hearing aid.so far no problems...
it might be tinitus or blood pressure but it could also be just your body's way of saying you're tired. many people have very strange physical symptoms when they are extremely tired. my eyesight goes very blurred and my ears sometimes ring too, and it goes away if i'm less tired. my boyfriend gets a sore stomach when he's extremely tired, and my best friend gets a rash. have a thorough check up from the doctor and if everything is negative then this may be the reason. if however it gets worse or you start noticing it when you are not tired then you need further investigation. my symptoms that i mentioned only started in my 30s so it can happen anytime. everyone;s body has some sort of alarm system.
