My freind is on life support for prescribed medication overdose?

Question:
She lived in florida I just found out that she overdosed on her back medication is not responding to the things they are trying doesnt know her family etc reconize them from what i understand what can happen has anyone had this happen can she get better

Answers:
Positive patient outcomes occur when the drug can be reversed(another drug used to do this), when the liver has not been damaged soo much that there is no liver to function off of, and when the oxygen to vital organs has not been compromised. I have sat with many, many OD patients with varying outcomes. Some od patients respond after a few minutes of treatment and others take days. OD patients that wake up can have a multitude of issues that may require them permanent placement in a nursing home...And some go home with outpatient treatment.

Best wishes
Sorry to hear what may have happened to your friend.
Not sure what your question is.
Your friend's family needs to contact an attorney.
I hope that your friend does get better. A friend of mine from a while back had a girlfriend who had the same thing happen to her, but she passed away in the hospital finally due to liver failure. I hope the same story isn't true for your friend. She's in my prayers, as are you and her loved ones. Keep us posted.
Whether or not she can get better depends on what the exact medication is that the OD'd on and the amount that she ingested, which would correlate to the damage that may have happened. You can actually overdose on almost anything, including water. If you list the exact drug perhaps someone can give you more info.
