Can your doctor condemn you from seeing him; because you didn't schedule follow up visits?

Question:
I just received a letter from my doctor, saying this.

Answers:
yes
I don't think he used the word "condemn". I'm sure he merely said that if you didn't trust his opinion and didn't follow up that you should see a different physician. Don't worry about it...just find yourself another doctor. I can say that it was rude for them to put that on paper, usually it's just said casually when you call, or they would continue to say they're booked and maybe you'd like to try someone else who is available.
Yes, especially if you are on Medicare, or are going to a clinic paid for by taxpayers.

My adopted son didn't get an operation on time & lost the vision in one eye because his birth mom didn't schedule followup visits, & he got dropped from the doctor.
Yes, unfortunately they can. They are out to treat and make money. You not showing, cost them money and a spot someone else could have utilized. SORRY!
I think they can - I think medical providers can choose not to have you as a patient if they feel that you are going against their advice or if you are a threat to them or something (like a stalker or just after drugs). Not saying you're doing that of course - :)

Probably he's just worried that you'll get sicker or not get better if you don't do the follow up visits & he doesn't want to be responsible. So yeah, I think he can.
gosh. that is really odd , no a docter shouldn't do that.. you have the right to visit whenever you want
Yes, they can say that you are being removed from their patient list due to non compliance with their recommendations. They don't want to be sued and a patient who doesn't follow the doctors orders can wind up being a large liability as well as taking valuable time from other patients who are more cooperative.
Well, It might depend on what the follow up visists were for, Possible if you had something seriously wrong with you and you just neglected to follow up on it, on purpose. He washed his hands of it. He can not help if you don't see him. And he has other patience to care for.
I've never heard something like that, but I guess your doctor can: this is a free country, you can pick any doctor you like, so i guess your doctor can chosose any patient he likes---even though, this one I never heard of happening to another person
yeah
