Why is an IV line inserted into a vein instead of an artery?

Question:

Answers:
Because a vein take the blood to the heart, and artery takes the blood away from the heart and it's also oxygenated.
Because arteries pump blood from the heart and veins carry the blood to your heart which helps to distribute the medicines throughout your body quicker.
Because from the vein it goes to the heart then is evenly distributed throughout the body.. into an artery it would go in whatever direction it was injected and take longer to circulate through the body.
Veins are also much easier to gain access to than arteries. In order to provide protection arteries lie much deeper in the body than veins. Also, veins allow much quicker and even distribution of the IV contents.
