When you go to counselling and your under the age of 18?

Question:
do your parents always talk to the counsellor afterwards

Answers:
I live in Ohio. I put my ten-year old in counseling for low self-esteem and other issues (feels like no-one likes him, sometimes lashes out, etc.) and they WILL NOT talk to your parents unless they feel you are going to harm yourself or others. They cannot share any information other than what I just stated. It's against the law here.
There is confidentiality that your counselor has to adhere to. The only things that can be reported are if you want to hurt yourself or another person.
