Does your body work more when its asleep? Is your system still at work and operating?

Question:
And therefore would it be alright/better to take my medication (doxycycline - for skin) before i go to bed?
Therefore i get the most out of it...because it is more trouble taking it in the daytime as if i eat within 3 hours of taking it i dont get the most out of it...

Answers:
Actually your body works less when it is asleep. Sleeping is an energy conserving/energy storing mode.

The medication will have more time to work it's way uninterrupted through your body however when you sleep (nothing to interfere with it). Its up to you, but I would consult with a pharmacist about how to get the maximum effect out of your medication. Also, what kinds of side effects you might get if you try to use it at night (maybe it needs to combine with something to work better that is more present in daytime hours... like adrenaline?)
