Please help me!?
Question:
and dont worry im ok now. i dont have any problems.
but will the doctor see the scars? on my arms and legs?
and also on the page my school gave him to fill out says skin- and then it asks if there are abnormal findings. would scars count??
Answers:
Probally so, he will check you head to toe. I dont really think it's necessary to put scars on the exam sheet though. He may casually ask where the came from.
Lots of people have scars I wouldnt let that bother you. Our past is what makes us who we are, usually stronger. If it bothers you that bad you could always consider laser treatments. There are also some over the counter creams for scars.
If the scars are from past abuse(or present)you need to confide in your Doctor. Yes, he would see your skin, and a lot more, during your physical. Let go of some of those fears. The Doctor might be the best thing that has happened to you.
A school team sports physical will include an examination of eyes, nose, throat, breathing, heart... sometimes blood to make sure there are no blood sugar issues that you're unaware of that may effect your team performance and a general muscle & skeltal check to make sure you won't be injured. They are likely to see the scars, but they will not necessarily keep you from being on the team. The results of your physical are personal and private between your doctor and yourself, so once he or she knows the story and that your past issues are exactly that... in the past... they shouldn't see a reason to keep you off the team unless new wounds of the same type occur. Though they might keep an eye on you out of professional concern, unless the problem is a current one they can't necessarily use it to keep you off the team. Good luck and have a great school year!
if you are a guy (I am so i only know what they did to me) they really just check you for a hernia. turn your head and cough. I don't remember any detailed look at skin.
They check your hearing, and eyes. Weigh and measure how tall you are. They look inside your ears and mouth. Then she check your stomach to see if you have any pain. The she checks your back for scolosis. (cant spell) I just had mine 2 weeks ago. Dont be nervous!
no scars does count if they are not new.
Your doctor may notice the scars, and if so he/she may express some concern. Assure the doctor that the scars are from the past and you have changed your ways. Though he/she may be skeptical, it shouldn't count against you to get on a school team. I have a few friends who went through that, and the doctor either didn't notice their scars or didn't mention it to them. It shouldn't have an affect on whether or not you can join the team.
