Cough
You can't make them go away. If I'm not mistaken, it's your diaphragm contracting.
Drink a glass of water really slow.. or hold your breath. it will go away.
Hiccups are caused when air get trapped under your diaphragm. I am a chronic hiccup sufferer and the one thing that has worked for me is think about it. If you think about how the hiccup is going to feel before it comes on for a while and you try to mimic the feeling, they will go away.
Ok make som1 to frighten u or watch a scary movie.
hiccough (normally pronounced "HICK-up" (regardless of spelling) is an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm; typically this repeats several times a minute. The sudden rush of air into the lungs causes the epiglottis to close, creating the "hic" listen (helpĀ·info) noise. A bout of hiccups generally resolves itself without intervention, although many home remedies are in circulation that claim to shorten the duration, and medication is occasionally necessary. By extension, the term "hiccup" is also used to describe a small and unrepeated aberration in an otherwise consistent pattern. The medical term is singultus.
While many cases develop spontaneously, hiccups are known to develop often in specific situations, such as eating too quickly, taking a cold drink while eating a hot meal, eating very hot or spicy food, laughing vigorously or coughing, drinking an alcoholic beverage to excess, crying out loud (sobbing causes air to enter the stomach), some smoking situations where abnormal inhalation can occur (in tobacco or other smoke like cannabis, perhaps triggered by precursors to coughing), or electrolyte imbalance. Hiccups may be caused by pressure to the phrenic nerve by other anatomical structures, or rarely by tumors and certain kidney disease. It is reported that 30% of chemotherapy patients suffer singultus as a side effect of treatmen
There is a diaphram between your lungs and your stomach. Hiccups are when that diaphram spazzms.
This ALWAYS works for me. I SWEAR!
Lay flat on the floor, couch, bed.somewhere flat.
Breath in through your mouth and then out your nose slowly. Concentrate on your nose. yes, on your NOSE!
Your body will relax along with the diaphram and it will stop spazzming.
Good luck!
close ur nose so u cant breath and drink a glass of water all at the same time ! or just go to sleep
try taking some really deep breaths (through your mouth) and holding it for about 5 seconds and releasing it... repeat about 5 times...
Will help relax your diaphragm (sp)

when i get the hiccups.. my boyfriend puts his hand out and says hiccup in my hand,... usually that always works for me
sugar didn't help? did you eat an entire teaspoon? That always works for me
I've never tried it, but I heard that a teaspoon of sugar works! Put the sugar in your mouth and swallow it all without letting it dissolve in your mouth. Good Luck :)
