Can someone become lactose intolerant when they get older?

Question:
I drank milk all the time as a kid, and today I got a stomach ache after drinking some...what does this mean?

Answers:
absolutely!! substances, especially one to things you come into contact with on a daily basis, can over time become an irritant to your system i.e.: allergies. Its in fact very common. One stomach ache from one glass of milk though does not necessarily indicate intolerance though. measure it more thoroughly over time and if the problem persists, make an appointment with your primary care physician to be tested for dairy allergies
Very possible. Many people develop and intolerance as they age. Their bodies are simply not able to digest the proteins as well as they used to be able to.
In the summer, I am lactose intolerant. I can't have cereal with milk. the Dr. said I'm getting older and my body reacts to the heat. So the answer is YES.
