White kernels on my tonsils??

Here is part of the article and I posted the site so you can check out the rest of the story.
They are called "sulfur balls" or tonsillolith (also called tonsil stone, calculi of the tonsil, bad breath ball[citation needed], white breath[citation needed] or stinky ball[citation needed]) is a piece (or more commonly, a cluster) of calcareous matter which forms in the rear of the mouth, in the crevasses (called "crypts") of the palatine tonsils (which are what most people commonly refer to as simply tonsils).
Tonsil stones, it is theorized, are the result of a combination of any of the following:
food particles
dead white blood cells (a.k.a. "leukocytes")
oral bacteria, possibly from mouth breathing
overactive salivary glands
They are described as having a pungent odor: halitosis concentrated into a small solid object. Visually, they may resemble sesame seeds in color and texture.
Protruding tonsilloliths have the feel of a foreign object, lodged between the outside of wisdom teeth and the temporomandibular joint region of the fleshed jaw. They may be an especially uncomfortable nuisance, but are not often harmful.
I've had them too and they are called cryptic tonsils
My sister and I have the same thing. I found out that they were just food parts stuck in there. I thought it was weird because they are always white or ivory. But yes, they do smell incredibly bad... sort of like rotting food I suppose.
They always come out of the same one for me too. Don't worry about it. :)
if you have had tonsilitis a few times you will have small craters in your tonsils which will fill with this hard white substance which is basically plaque like u get on your teeth.
they are called tonsiloliths, or tonsil stones, theres a surprising amount of info on the net.
you can pic them out with a dental pick, or get a water pick, and use plenty of mouthwash.
I have them too. I have deep pits in my tonsils and they get stuck there. I have to clean them out with a qtip. Its so gross
yes! i have the same thing. i have to gag them up to get them out of my throat too. ive never talked talked to doctor about it tho. maybe a way you can get them out without coughing is to take a q-tip and just rub it off of your tonsils. i know they suck. but good luck with it!
Thank you for asking this question. I have always wondered what those were. I only get them a few times a year and never thought them bad enough to ask a doc about them. Thanks again!!
