I woke up with a 101 degree temperature? Any advice?

Question:
I drove out in to the country to watch a meteor shower with my girlfriend last night and now I am sick. Any remedies?

Answers:
The old stand by is still the best: rest, take some aspirin and drink plenty of fluids. Keep warm, too.
Tylenol tried and true to bring down that fever. Then drink plenty of liquids, eat some broth-based soup, and take it easy today. It would be nice if your girlfriend would bring over some soup and take care of you. If she does, she is defiantly a keeper. If not, find a new one. ;-)
Suprisingly enough, your fever may be your remedy.

When your body raises it's own temperature, it's in response to a foreign body that has taken up residence in your body. The fever is a natural, healthy way of the body trying to kill off the foreign body to make you well again.

When people say take tylenol, it brings the fever down but can prolong your illness. I'd say stay hydrated, definately drink tons of water (or if water isn't available, drink some sort of beverage with very very little or no sugar, as taht can dehydrate you) and have some soup. Get tons of rest and hopefully it will go away.

If it doesn't, see a doctor, there may be something else wrong.
