My dad suddenly had a nose bleed last saturday what do you think is happening to him why he is bleeding?

Question:
my dad is now at the hospital and his blood pressure suddenly goes high then it would become normal again then it will become high blood p. again, even though he is sleeping his nose is still bleeding. the doctor cannot stop the bleeding so maybe you know some cases like this pls. help me!

Answers:
His nose is bleeding because he's hypertensive. The doctors have most likely packed it and if that doesn't stop the bleeding they can cauterize or try another method.

Their main goal will be to stabilize his blood pressure, which is causing the bleeding and also has other possible complications.
He is at the best place possible. The hospital. The doctors will find out the problem. Could be his meds, the high blood pressure, etc.

Calm down, and let the drs. do there work. They Will find out.

Your dad needs you to be sturdy and solid, calming for him.

Good luck
My advice to you would to be to stay as calm as possible. I know that is hard to do but it is best. If it is only a nose bleed that wont stop the doctor can give him meds or if that is unsuccessful cauterizing the vessels can help. His blood pressure may be a contributing factor to the nose bleed and vice versa. Stress can cause the blood pressure to sky rocket. Stay calm for your Dad to support him. Be sure to follow advice from your Physician or charge nurse.

High blood pressure or thyroid issues can contribute to nose bleeds- as well as stress of ANY kind.
He may need to go on bp med as well as some sort of anti-anxiety medication. This might help subside the nose bleeds.
If not, possibly seek another doctor's opinion.
My husband gets sever nose bleeds a lot and his Dr told him it was due to his sinus'. When they start acting up the membranes in the nose fill up with blood and when he blows they bust lose. Sometimes we have to put cold packs on the back of his neck to get the bleeding to stop. The first time it happened it scared him and his blood pressure went out of control [ nerves, and fear caused that ]. He was in the hospital for 3 days. After that the Dr gave him some new meds and it helps some. He still gets nose bleeds but not like the first one. Scared the h.e.l.l. out of me.Thought he had banged his head and had a concussion or a tumor in his head had ruptured...

All you can do is stay calm and be there for him. He needs to relax and let the doctors figure it out. If you are not satisfied with the Dr's results so far look for a Nose Specialist and see what they have to say...
