HELP! I only have two days left before i have to do to school! how can i get rid of my sleeping problem?!?


Question:
O-kay here the deal i happen to go to sleep around 4 or 5 in the morning and end up waking up around 2 or... er 5 in the afternoon. The thing is I do get sleepy around ten but for some odd reason i can't sleep! My mind just won't shut up! ARGH! I tried over-the-counter sleeping pills but they just won't work! And I'm starting high school (that starts with ungodly hours) soon. So is there any cure that well work in two days?

I'm a teacher, so I too get terrible sleep habits over the summer. I've found that if I force myself to get up at the normal school hour and then stay up all day then by the end of the day I'm so tired I just pass out by 10 or 11. That's the only thing I can think of, sorry. I hope it works for you too.
Valerian root is the only natural herb that i take that works for me. Forget the prescription pills, your too young. Jennifer
hi there, you can do one thing read some books which you dont like or watch t.v the programme which you hate..will automatically fall asleep.
try to sleep early eventhough you can't sleep. try to close your eyes or count the black sheep..
Stay Up And Go TO Bed As Usual And. Set An Alarm In The Morning and Even Though You May Be tired, Make Your Self Wake Up Earlier. That Way You'll Be Tired At Night And Fall Asleep.

As a fellow insomniac, I can understand your plight. However, since you are under 21, I can't suggest my routine for getting sleep...alcohol...lots and lots of alcohol.

ah, a fellow insomniac! LOL, well, to be honest I have to agree with a couple of the other answers posted. It's best to set your alarm for whatever time you get up when you have a regular school day, and then force yourself to wake up. It won't be easy because you will know you can go back to sleep if you want but don't let yourself. If you want to make sure you get up then maybe arrange to meet a friend at that time for breakfast (I guarantee you're not the only one out there with an odd sleep schedule - it's what happens during summer break to the best of us!) Anyhow, at least you will have something to wake up for - which is perhaps breakfast with a friend, and guaranteed you'll be tired enough to fall asleep at a proper time in the evening if you stay awake all day! Good luck, first day of highschool is always one to remember :-)
