I have an embarassing problem...?

I answered that question today ... see link
I am a very active person, and I had fungus regularly (smelly feet is one of the symptoms of a fungus),
the dermotologists gave me so many antifungus creams that never worked and now I don't trust any creams. I finally found a thing that works for me and my active lifestyle, and I also used it in Africa when it was so hot and humid. It's Tea Tree Oil foot powder. Not only it smells good without being too obvious, it absorbs humidity, and it kills the fungus.
And I also did footbath.
So here is my routine (everyday until symptoms disappear):
- I put tea tree oil foot powder in my socks and in my shoes.
- At home, I do tea tree oil foot bath (diluted with water of course) (especially after working out, or after a long hot day inside closed shoes)
- Dry your feet as soon as you get out of the shower and after your footbath.
- Wear open shoes as often as you can.
(I keep doing this routine as a prevention thing now, but not everyday)

That aveeno stuff works pretty well. There are also powders, like Gold Bond that can help.
Its only a few bucks, why not give it a shot?!
Go to your local pharmacy. They make products and powders for your shoes to keep your feet from sweating. And to put in your shoes to keep them from smelling. Ask the pharmacist there for help.
wear cotton socks if your socks are nylon then get rid of them. Also try changing your socks 2 or 3 times a day but first clean your feet if possible. You could also try odor eaters or maybe even see a doctor. Who knows you might have some kind of skin problem with your feet. gl
True story... my MIL told me that when her daughter was a baby, she smelt a foul odor and immediately assumed she needed a diaper change.. but her diaper was clean and dry! She sniffed around and discovered the offensive smell was emanating from that poor baby's feet! Some people's feet are just more prone to harboring the nasty bacteria that produce foot odor.
I found an article with some good suggestions.

Darling, do you really need to take off your shoes at parties in order to dance? No. Try wearing more open toed shoes. And yes try showering and washing inbtween your toes. also dry the spaces inbetween your toes thoroughly. Also try and put dusting powder in between your toes at night. But many doctors are not going to come on here to advice you because they have far more important things to do, try GOING to see a doctor. That way if your problem is really crucial, you can get some strong medical help other than from those of us here who only want to jeer at you and call you obscene names.
try putting fabric softner sheets in your shoes it absorbs the smell really well.
One thing that can help is keeping your shoes smelling fresh, since stinky shoes lead to stinkier feet. This is especially important with tennis shoes. I've seen things you can put in your shoes while you're not wearing them that keep them smelling good--you can find them in shoe stores. They often look like little balls. They'll keep your closet from smelling like feet, too. :)
Also, when you wear socks, change them more than once a day. And if your feet tend to be sweaty, you might try washing them in the early afternoon, when it's hottest. Use bar soap, like Dial, since it will clean your feet more thoroughly than body gel--bacteria like sweaty feet, and this contributes to foot odor. So you want to kill the bacteria! Be sure to get the spots between your toes, since they like to hide there.
Use foot powder every day--you can find this (Gold Bond foot powder, for instance) at any pharmacy or grocery store that has a medicine aisle. Avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row, and avoid shoes that don't breathe (like plastic shoes).
At a party, consider dabbing a bit of perfume on your ankles--the veins there will exhude heat that will make the perfume smell great and keep smelling great when you dance (dancing keeps the blood flowing!). Pick a fresh, light scent (not a musky, heavy scent). Something with a fruit or light flower scent (think spring wildflowers, not jasmine) will beat that foot odor anytime!
Above all, don't feel embarrassed about it: lots of people have that problem, and we usually notice it a lot more on ourselves than on others. Just don't stick your foot in someone's face, lol! :D
The sites below list tips and specific powders that are good to use. Hope this helps some!!
wash your feet with antibacterial soap.
Are you wearing imitation leather shoes, like pleather or vinyl? A lot of shoes are made out of these materials now, even the moderately priced shoes from journey's etc. Some feet can't deal with the man-made fabric and start to stink. Regular leather or canvas lets your feet breath so they don't stink. Also Dr. Shoal's has inserts that might solve the problem.
You might need to see a Dr. because it could be something that needs to be treated with a prescription cream, if nothing else works.
