Question:
Ever since her sister died, my friend has been relying to much on alcohol to make her happy. She wouldn't even hang out with our group anymore. She'd just choose to hang out with anyone who would join her in her binge drinking. I had always tried to convince her to look at herself and see what alcohol has done to her-- that she has become so dependent upon it that various aspects of her life are suffering because of it. The past few weeks, she has shown regret for her actions and has asked me to find a treatment center for her. I really want to help her with this. How?
Answers:
Wow. You're a really good friend to stick with her through a time like this. I'm glad you're there to help her out. You did the right thing by convincing her to get herself treated for her addiction. At least she has now seen that it would be better if she goes back to living a life free from alcohol abuse.
