Why do thin people look taller?

Question:
People always tell me I'm tall, even though I'm only 5'5. I'm very thin so I look taller. Why is that?

Answers:
It appears to be that way. According to physics and nature of light the eye perceives it that way.
First of all, for an American woman, you are one inch taller then normal so you are "tall".

Maybe people think you look tall because they associate your thin body with the body of a model's and just assume that you are tall without actually calculating, asking, or figuring out how tall you are.

.
when they look at you, they don't see width.. they see height. strange but true..stay slim.. it is a whole lot better to be 5'5 than 5 by 5..
Optical illusion. False impression. Some really obese heavy weights who are 6 ft only look about 5 ft 8 because of their enormous weight and some really thin bean stalks who are only 5 ft 8 look about 6 ft because of their lack of weight.
