Why is methampetamine called the poor mans cocaine?
Question:
Answers:
Because cocaine is usually four to five times as expensive as meth (per gram). Also, cocaine is often associated with Hollywood, luxury, fast cars and unprotected sex. Meth, however, lacks that positive connotation and is usually placed side by side with disfigured tweakers and those on the lowest rung of substance (ab)use.
While cocaine is not "better" for you than meth, the side-effects it has on the human body are not as noticable as with methamphetamines, ie. "meth mouth", even more weight loss, skin hanging loosely off bones, etc.
I'm sure if everyone could afford cocaine, they would choose it over meth. But as you know, that is not the case; so a cheaper and much more powerful high is needed. The solution? Meth: the poor man's cocaine.
bc its f'ing cheap as hell.
Meth and cocaine are both stimulants, but the side effects of meth are much worse because of the nasty chemicals used to make it. Cocaine users aren't known for the facial sores and missing teeth like meth users are. A dose of meth lasts much longer than a dose of cocaine.
Because meth is a bunch of manmade chemical crap.
