Vicodin and death?

Now I take about the same, sometimes more pills a day along with my anti-depressants, mood stabilizers, and sedatives (zoloft, lamictal and seroquel). I have been now for about 6month. Can a person really just die like that because of taking vicodin? I would think my Doctor wouldnt prescribe them if that was the case.

I'm sure you could but how many people die each day taking the same meds that you do? Probably not many otherwise the pharmaceutical companies (we hope) would include a warning against taking certain drugs with the vicodin.
Well there are only two active ingredients in vicoden, acetaminophen and hydrocodon. I wouldn't think that the hydrocodon wouldn't do anything to kill someone but the acetaminophen is a different. If he was taking up to 5000 mg of that a day, it could spell serious liver trouble. Such as cirrhosis and liver cancer
i am in the same boat with you i suffer fromadd/hdd also said bi -polar i take xanax and zoloft and strattrra and sometimes vicoden as long as you do not abuse it you should be alright, your body can take plenty of abuse , just do it in moderation like how your doctor provided you
Do you know what Vicodin does? Vicodin is also known as M357. Vicodin has bad and good side effects like euphoria (makes you happy). The bad side effects are hyperventilation, vomiting, etc. Hyperventilation is the state of breathing faster and/or deeper than necessary, thereby reducing the carbon dioxide concentration of the blood below normal.
Vicodin is an opiate One of the side effects of opiates is decreased respiratory drive. If you take too many, or you have too much in your system, it tells your body to quit breathing. You slow your breathing down too much for too long a time, decreasing the oxygen level in your blood, it will cause your heart to slow down/ go into irregular rhythms and eventually stop. YES, you can die with vicodin!
