Is it safe if you suffer from uncontrolled epilepsy and are medication to have children ... ?

Question:

Answers:
You might be worth asking the neurologist that has been treating your epilepsy.
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you seldom have seizures, your doctor might decide not to have you take medication. If you have seizures, frequently, then you need to take an anti-convulsant. Seizures can be very dangerous to your brain, your heart, and physically overall due to falling or flailing and things like that. If you are asking if it is safe to conceive while taking an anti-convulsant, usually the recommendation is to speak with your doctor about whether the benefits outweigh the costs. Yes there is some danger of birth defect, but there is also danger of miscarriage if you have a seizure while pregnant. Hope this helps.
