Goosebumps when hit?

Question:
My coworker's skin gets goosebumps when smacked and not even that hard either. I've never seen this before, is this common? Is there a name for it?

Answers:
Being smacked stimulates the nerves in that area as well as the arrector pili muscle (see this diagram http://neuromedia.neurobio.ucla.edu/camp... which causes the muscle to contract, which causes goosebumps to form. Obviously not everyone does this.

I get goosebumps when smacked too.
I don't think that's common at all. It's never happened to me and no one I've ever known has had that happen to them.
