Answers:
There are different kinds of worms that animals get that humans can contract. If it is pin worms or tape worms, The doctor will have you put tape on your anus while you sleep. Worms come out you anus at night and lay eggs. You can also see them in you feces when you go and you anus will be very itchy. Tape worms can get very very long. I believe the 2 I mentioned are the most common.
You need to go see a doctor as soon as possible. Surely you can't diagnose this on your own.
You would get worms from fecal contact. Rectal itching is a symptom.
It sounds like the person got a tape worm I saw one in biology class. You might have a flu.You should go to a doctor anyway.
tell your doctor about the worms. he will give you tablets to clear your worms in your stomach.
next tine if you are hungry on't swallow your dog's fur
go for smoe good food.
if you get worms from dogs they are not remotely scary i promise you. and they are nothing like as big as a tape worm, they are tiny, smaller than a grain of rice! when i was little i had worms a couple of times from my dog and with medication they cleared up in no time. so, please don't worry yourself with scare stories.
Most intestinal parasites are species specific, that is, they cannot survive is a different type of animal.. Others can survive, but cannot complete their life cycle in a human, thus die out.

You can have your doctor order an O&P - ova and parasite test. Fresh feces are sent to a lab and examined for the eggs of common intestinal parasites.

Prevention includes meticulous hand washing after handling animal species, and discarding or washing contaminated clothing and other articles.
