Why do you yawn when your tired but once you get into bed you stop yawning?

Question:
I noticed this and wondered if anyone knew!

Answers:
yawning is in response to lack of oxygen. when you sleep, you breathe slower because you require less oxygen. when you wake, you can yawn to get more in. if you yawn in the morning when waking, you may be laying wrong at night and causing yourself to be low on oxygen.
Good observation. I never noticed that, but it's true!
because yawning is an automatic reflex that your body uses to tell you things...once you listen and lay down, it doesn't have to tell you the same message anymore...
