Is it save to take two 60mg pseudoephidrine tablets (120mg) to make it last for 8 hours instead of?

Question:
taking one (60mg) which lasts only 4 hours?

Answers:
Hi Dave:

NO NO NO NO NO

Do not double the recommended dosage.

Just because you double the dose does not mean it lasts longer. If you want it to last longer then buy the extended release form that lasts for 12 hrs.

Don't double take what the directions are on the package. That is what the directions are there for.

Be safe and be well
it's still only going to last 4 hours...just be a stronger dose
Taking two would not increase the length of time it is effective. It would only make a stronger dose for the same 4 hours. Pseudoephidrine should not be taken in larger than prescribed dosages because of the strain it would put on your heart.
No. This will make your heart speed up which is unsafe. Take a max of 60mg over 4-6 hours. If you are really congested you can take another dose of 60mg after 4 hours. It would be safe to start with 30mg and see how that affects your symptoms.
