21 years old and my Neutrophils levels are low?

Question:
My Neutrophils level is 48.90, and average is 56-80. I also have a high level of Calcuim in my blood which is strange because I don't drink milk, 10.7 (9.0-10.3). I have MVP and MVR and I am always tired and always have chest pain. Please Help, Thanks.

Answers:
I am not a doctor, so what I say is not necessarily the case for you. But I have just finished taking a course in anatomy and physiology, and learned about what you are describing. Neutrophils aid in wound healing- and thats really all I can tell you about that. Try doing a search on the internet to find out more about them.

As far as your calcium levels being high- it could be from several things- but the first two things to pop in my head are calcitonin and cacitrol. These are two hormones secreted by the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Calcitonin helps with the absorption of calcium from your blood- and puts it in your bones. If you blood levels are high it could be a problem with this- lack of calcitonin results in hypercalcemia which has some of the symptoms you described. Here are some more: Nausea and vomiting
Excessive thirst
Frequent urination
Constipation
Abdominal pain
Muscle weakness
Muscle and joint aches
Confusion
Lethargy and fatigue

Cactriol helps regulate the calcium in your bones, and when levels get to high, it puts it back in your blood. Which could be another cause of your high blood level calcium. Hypocalcemia results from not having cacitrol.

Good luck, feel better and I hope this helps some.
