Does pot make your anxiety and nervousness go away?

Question:
thats what my best friend said and hes never nervous or anything and i have big prob with anxiety and stuff also im 17 and i know i shouldnt do drugs or whatever but pot really isnt bad for you like other drugs i havent tried it yet but is this true?

Answers:
Not always. Some people get extremely "mellow" from smoking marijuana... often a little TOO mellow. OTHERS have the opposite reaction - extreme paranoia. They think they're going to get caught, that the way they feel is too weird and lasting way too long, that they'll never be "normal" again, etc. And for months later, they still think "everyone knows" and they're going to be arrested (it is illegal, after all), and so on.

I've seen both reactions, and you can't always predict which person is going to respond which way.
It depends. Some people say it relaxes them and say they never get anxious or nervous. Others freak out, panic get paranoid etc etc. I would advise you not to even try it cause 1 its illegal 2 it causes schitzophenia and 3 pot is as bad as the other drugs as it leads you onto them.

Do yourself a favour and dont even try
have a good one
for me ya it helps wen im sober i freak out in pob and lose my breath but if im high i dont care but pots a drug and i just recently stoped after 6 years of doing almost every day and its hard not being high u have to find your self agen but once cant hurt just dont over do it and watch out for PIGS
It does for the duration of the drug, but afterward, you become MORE anxious and nervous, which makes you want to smoke pot more, which makes you even more anxious and nervous.

Cycle continues until you become an absolute losers, like the ones you see on those cops videos.
While a lot of people find smoking pot relaxing, for someone that suffers from anxiety and nervousness, smoking pot can sometimes make these symtoms worse. As with anything in life use your best judgement and do things in moderation.
It really depends. Pot is a psychoactive drug (but it DOESN'T cause schizophrenia it's LSD that has been linked to schitzo). A lot of how your experience goes depends on your mood and attitude, or the environment. In other words, what you bring to the experience will affect it. You really could react either way.

It can also vary with the type of pot. Some strains are mellow, some not. There is no 'general' pot experience, no matter what stereotypes the anti-drug commercials try to put out there. It's unfortunate that it's illegal. I know some very successful people who smoke almost every day. Then again I know some losers that smoke almost every day..see what I mean? While people may have similar experiences, it's a very situational kind of thing.
I was diagnosed with anxiety back in november, but have suffered from it til now about a little over a year. i am only twenty years old, but dont really know why i started getting this but just to make a long story short, it kept on getting worse and worse each time. i didnt have any thing in particular to fear but just simple, irrational thoughts would give me a panic attack. I did my research about all this condition and found out that not only do i have anxiety but also panic disorder or generalized anxiety disorder as well. one of my biggest problems are the feelings of unreality. Or another example would be a headache or a stomach ache. " o my god! what if its a brain tumor! Or what if its my appendix?!!" seconds later-- PANIC ATTACK!! and then in mid december I was lucky enough to find a book called Panic Away and it helped alot instantly, I cant wait to let my doctors know that my solution was not the lexapro or the Klonopin.
