What is the cause of a person producing involuntary noise intermittently?

Question:
It's a low guttural throat sound, I don't even know I'm doing it ,unless I wake myself up.or my husband and kids tell me. I do it when my pain increases but I have no awareness or control of it. MY body started going to sleep a couple yrs ago when the pain got to high, so I will be nodding off and it gets louder ,thats the only time I hear myself and it will wake me, If the rest of the family dos'nt tell me first. It really gives me the creeps.

Answers:
Touretts Syndrome?
If you weren't in pain it'd be a vocal tic, but since it's related to pain it may just be a crying out sound. It almost sounds like snoring. Ask your doctor, whoever you see for the pain. It may be a side effect of a medication you're taking.
orgasm -not creepy at all.
