What is causing my shortness of breath and sore sternum?

Question:
I am a 20 year old male who regularly lifts weights. In recent days, maybe even a week I have been experiencing shortness of breath and slight pain in my chest. Could this be from a weight lifting injury? Should I seek medical attention? I tend to worry a lot about medical issues, which probably doesn't help. Last night I took a medication called "broncaid" in hopes of alleviating the discomfort. It seemed to help a little but today it seems to have returned. I never really had a problem with asthma so I don't know what else it could. Please help!

Answers:
It could well be a lifting injury, but you need to get it checked out by a doctor to ensure that there isn't something else going on. Better to be safe than sorry as the saying goes.
