There is no need to be scared. Needles used for shots these days are pretty small so you don't really feel them, all you feel is a small pinch. I am usually fine with needles as long as I don't look and the nurse at my docotors clinic knows that but this year the Doc had to give me my flu shot and he wasn't aware of my small problem. He prepared the small device right in front of me and when he saw my tear filled eyes he said "You're not scared of a little needle are you?" and I replies with "No, I just don't like looking." and then he did it real quick and I didn't even feel it.
Quick pinch and it's over.
No worries. :)
i hate them, too! whenever i'm going to be poked w/ a needle, whether it's an injection or drawing blood, i look away from the needle and breath! breathing is key ... long, deep breaths!
shots are so not that bad, just a little pinch and thats it. it takes like 3 seconds. i used to be scared too but now its fine. dont be scared, its nothing.
Shots really aren't as bad as you think they are. The worst is a small pinch, but that's it. They will be over before you know it.
Just don't watch. Turn away till it's over.
Well, the way I got used to getting shots, is that I thought happy thoughts really really hard. And I smiled a little and before I knew it, I was done! Then I took a breath (that doesn't mean not to breathe when you get a shot). They don't hurt too bad when you get used to getting them.
breath, look away and think of somthing you were planning for the day.that should help.
