I have been on prozac for almost a year now and recently I have had some suicidal thoughts and I almost tried one time. What are some other meds I could take instead, or is it just because I am not taking a high enough dose? I used to be on 10mgs, for about two weeks I have been on double that.

If you have that effect, stay away from Zoloft! Zoloft did that to me. The best I have found is Lexapro. It had no serious side effects with me and it kept me at a happy medium. My doctor figured I wasn't taking enough Zoloft as I was getting worse so they upped the dose. That made me have suicidal thoughts. The Lexapro worked great.
These are all things you need to discuss with your doctor not someone on here. Suicide is serious so I do hope you called and told your doctor about that. Make an appointment with your doc ASAP and get all of this worked out. Only your doc can decide if you need a different med or different dose or what. NO ONE on here can do that.
