I asked my girlfriend that once - she told me it's more emotional for her to get excited. We as males can easily get excited on physical appearance, while for women - it's more of an internal process.

I think we get excited when we see that a man is excited. To be honest a penis that is not hard does nothing for me. And If I were being really honest I would have to say the "penis" itself I don't find that exciting..don't get me wrong I love what it can do but to get excited from just the sight... not really.
