Is nausea one of the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

I have recently been diagnosed with IBS. My doctor thinks this is why I get nauseated easily, especially when I'm under stress. But someone (a nurse) told me she had IBS for 40 years, and never experienced nausea with it. On IBS websites, it only mentions diarrhea and constipation, and pain, not nausea. What is the truth?
