A question for people who've seen neurologists...?

Hi, I believe it would depend on if you have the pains often. If it' s just once in a while, it could be caused by stress or maybe signs of migraine? These pains can be treated by painkillers. If you see neurologist and you want proper check up by CT or EEG you have to stress out that it hurts all the time and that you are concerned. I visit my neurologist all the time. She checks your reflexes by using something like a hammer (don' t worry, the head is made of rubber). Nothing to worry about at all.
Hope I helped a bit
Usually SCANS identifies problem very late. Scans get the problem at organ level. We need protection at cellular level, where nothing can be diagonised. what a pity?
Yes your doctor should send you for an MRI not a CT Scan. MRI's will show more than a CT. I know that MRI's cost allot of money and some doctors are reluctant because of your health care insurance will not cover it unless they the insurance company approves that your symptoms deem necessary. So I would ask your insurance co to see if they would cover it and if you ask your doctor for an MRI I am sure he will order one for you even if it is for peace of mind. There is no radiation involved so I do not see any reason not to order you one.
they ask alot of questions about your symptoms and problems - my neuro was so good he could tell what my problem was based on various symptoms I was having and the location of the pain, etc - at least he was able to narrow it down to a few possbile problems... before I went to him though, my MD ordered me to get an MRI done and the neuro got sent over the results and was reading them, explaining them to me. I think neuros are pro MRI's and you should ask them to refer u for one if you don't get one from your MD.
